Technologies

At Brigham City Eye and Vision Care we are well known for combining personal attention and state of the art technology to provide you with the highest quality optometry services available.

We are proud of our investment into modern technology that ultimately benefits our patients. Below are some of the devices and technology we use in our office.

I-Care tonometer: If you have had an eye exam in the past, odds are you probably remember the dreaded “puff of air!” No longer do you have to endure that most memorable part of your exam! We have been utilizing this handheld device for several years to test your eye pressure in a way that is more accurate and much more comfortable for you.

Optos wide-field retinal imaging: We are able to take a high definition photo of the majority of your retina (back of eye) and show you exactly what we are seeing. This technology has made the process of diagnosing and managing retinal conditions such as macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy faster and more effective at our clinic.

OCT: This device is used to take a cross-sectional image of the front or back of your eye so that we can see exactly where a lesion, or fluid, or swelling is occurring. This device has completely changed how we are able to evaluate and treat difficult conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and many other tricky and subtle conditions.

Topography: This takes a map of the front surface of your eyes allowing us to detect early signs of conditions like Keratoconus that can cause degeneration of the cornea. We also can use this to evaluate this tissue after refractive surgery such as LASIK. Our topographer also has some unique technology where we can assess some subtle differences between your daytime and night-time vision helping us sort out tricky glasses prescriptions

Tempsure Envi Radiofrequency (RF): This device allows us to specifically treat something called Meibomian Gland Dysfunction which is the primary cause for 80% of all dry eyes! With this device we are able to apply simultaneous heat and pressure in a very specific way to melt waxy deposits blocking oil glands near your eyelashes. This treatment has been shown to improve your eye health, comfort, and vision that can be compromised by this condition. For more information please call to schedule a Dry Eye Evaluation.

Neurolens: Each person has a unique ocular alignment or natural positioning of the eyes. The eyes have to work together to see things at different distances. If there is an ocular misalignment many people can experience: headaches, motion sickness, neck or shoulder pain, eye strain or fatigue, or light sensitivity. Neurolens is an in-office machine that can measure your ocular misalignment. If there is a misalignment that is causing your symptoms, we can use your findings to make glasses with something called contoured prism that corrects for this. This technology allows us to treat conditions that we couldn’t otherwise. This technology has been very helpful for many people.
